It all HINGE’d on technology…

Even though Yvette and David had at least 80 mutual friends, social media is responsible for this love story! They met on the dating app, Hinge, and no, it wasn’t love at first sight! But they built their relationship over a mutual obsession with basketball and bonded over their common childhood experience of growing up abroad. Soon enough, their friendship blossomed into true love and it wasn’t long until they shared a home and a furry cat called Arthur! With both of their families in Asia, Yvette and David supported each other and relied on each other and somehow, “everything just made sense”.

Their wedding at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay was truly a day to remember. The celebration included 140 of the Yvette’s and David’s closest friends and family from around the world, as well as a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, and lots of special personal details. Their vision for their wedding was simple and classic and a very soft color palette. And of course, the very best food and wine was also a major priority (there was even a midnight course of Ramen and Peking Duck for the late-night dance partiers)!

Simple, Classic, Elegant

Yvette’s uniquely beaded Naeem Kahn gown from Jin Wang Bride was complemented beautifully by the bridesmaids’ soft blush dresses by Vera Wang and the softest hued rose bouquets. She later wore a gorgeous Jonathan Simkhai dress for the reception and dancing. And of course, David looked absolutely smashing in his custom-made tuxedo and Hugo Boss shoes.

Before the marriage… A tea ceremony

Yvette traded her white gowns for a striking red lace dress to perform the traditional Chinese tea ceremony. This special moment of the wedding is day is shared with the couple’s parents, allowing them a moment to express gratitude for all the love and support they have given them over their lives.

Special touches from friends and family

Yvette and David are so grateful for all the personal contributions made by their friends and family to make their wedding day unique and special. The groom’s sister, a world-class designer, created the menu, welcome book, and all of the paper details. A sweet friend, Michi, also lent a hand by making all of the table signs, escort cards, and welcome signs. Yvette and David fondly recall all of the ways their guests made their wedding day the most perfect day of their lives.
